D.A. Studio Competitive Team 2025-2026
Information for Parents and Dancers
The D.A. Studio competitive program provides dancers with a positive dance experience, in a supportive team environment, where each dancer works hard to reach his or her potential. The program requires a significant commitment from dancers and parents/guardians.
1. Technique: all competitive dancers must enroll in a technique class. These classes are mandatory. Once tryouts are completed the Studio Director will tell you what technique class to register in.
2. Each competitive dancer must join the Musical Theater Large Production.
3. Attendance Policy: competitive dancers are expected to attend all technique and competitive classes. A dancer missing more than three classes will not be permitted to continue in that class at the teacher's discretion (no refunds will be issued). Dancers missing more than three technique classes or three Musical Theater Production classes will not be permitted to continue with the team at the teacher's discretion. Please note absences include illness, vacation, family events, etc. Exceptions to this Attendance Policy for medical reasons will be considered on a case by case basis and will require a doctor’s note. Dancers who habitually “sit out” practices or technique classes (attend class but don’t participate) will be assessed for continuation on the team on a case by case basis.
4. Practice Time: competitive dancers are expected to practice skills and choreography at home at a rate to be set by each teacher.
5. Class times: class schedules will be finalized by September 28th 2024. Competitive classes are scheduled on Saturdays, Sundays and Weekday evenings. Intensive practices are usually held during the 1st Saturday of March Break.
6. 2026 Competitions: dancers must attend all competitions and dress rehearsals. No exceptions.
